Woven through the rolling pastures of a family-owned Texas farm, three Grace Trail loops invite visitors to choose their own pace and experience the five questions among horses, open sky, changing light, and the steady rhythm of the land.
About This Trail
Every Grace Trail shares the same five questions, yet no two are exactly alike. Discover the landscape, stories, and community that shape this one.
The Green Trees Farm Grace Trail® grew from a simple act of generosity: Lynda and Bill Schumann wanted to share a place they loved.
Set on family land cared for across generations, three distinct walking loops invite visitors to experience the five questions at their own pace. Horses graze nearby, cattle move across the pastures, and creek beds, native plants, wide Texas skies, and changing light become part of the walk.
Created with the help of friends, volunteers, and local partners, Green Trees Farm shows what can happen when private land is opened with a generous purpose.

Every Grace Trail is rooted in its community. From the people who champion it to the stories it reflects, each trail becomes a one-of-a-kind expression of place.
Green Trees Farm is unusual among Grace Trails because it began on privately owned family land.
Lynda and Bill Schumann could have kept this place entirely to themselves. Instead, they chose to share it.
Friends, volunteers, local organizations, and community partners helped bring that vision to life, contributing time, ideas, resources, and support. What emerged is an invitation into a place the Schumann family deeply values.
Visitors continue to come by arrangement to walk, gather, experience the questions, and spend time on the land.
Community resources do not always begin on public property. Sometimes they begin when someone opens a gate.
Words Carried on the Texas Wind
Along the Trail stands a Wind Phone, added with support from the Temple Rotary Club.
The non-working rotary phone offers visitors a quiet place to speak words they may still carry for someone who has died—words of love, gratitude, anger, longing, remembrance, or goodbye.
There is no connection on the other end.
Only the open air, the surrounding land, and the freedom to say what needs to be said.
At Green Trees Farm, the Wind Phone offers another way the landscape can make room for what people carry—and what they may be ready to release.

Along the way, simple moments begin to stand out— what you notice, what you feel, and what stays with you.
Choose Your Pace
Three loops make it possible to meet the Trail differently each time. A visitor might take the quarter-mile path, stay longer on the 1.1-mile loop, or simply spend time with one question. The landscape offers room to choose what feels right for the day.
The Farm Around You
This is a working landscape, not a backdrop. Horses graze nearby, cattle move through the pastures, and wind, changing light, native plants, and open sky shift throughout the walk. The life of the farm becomes part of what visitors notice along the way.
Room to Gather
Green Trees can be experienced alone, with family or friends, or as part of a facilitated gathering. Its three loops create different ways to move through the questions, while the openness of the farm gives people room to walk, talk, pause, or simply spend time together.
Tales From The Trail
Every walk takes on a character of its own—shaped by the people who arrive, the animals that share the land, and the small moments no one could plan.
Across the paths of Green Trees Farm, life continues around the Trail. Horses graze nearby, cattle move across the pastures, and Rufus—the farm dog—may appear on patrol or settle in for a well-earned break.
Visitors bring their own reasons for coming. Some walk quietly, some share the questions with others, and some simply spend time on the land.
That unpredictability is part of Green Trees Farm. No two walks need to look the same; the Trail provides the questions, and the land provides the setting for whatever the day brings.
Everyone who comes here is affected by what transpires. I don't walk the trail with them, and I don't ask them the questions. I believe God is present in these woods, in the wind, and in the trees—and that He speaks to people here, whether they're believers or not. I think He's trying to reach them. I just had to share this place.
